2008 Conventions Survival Guide

We know that the Biannual “Virginia GOP Convention Season” often confuses nearly everyone at least a little bit.  Here’s a quick guide designed to help you decipher it all. 

Please remember to register for the PWC Republican Convention by March 29

If you want to...

You must....          (click here for all details)

Be a voting member of the Prince William County Republican Committee.

Why?  You Will Decide:

·         How Republican candidates are nominated.

·         How the Party's funds are raised and spent.

·         GOP public policy statements.

·         Members-only Q&A with our local GOP elected officials.

·         Be one of the people who beats the pants off Democrats year in and year out!

Register by March 29 for the PWC Convention and check the “Membership, Prince William County Republican Committee, 2008-2010” box on the pre-filing form.

You should also attend the PWC Convention by checking the “Delegate, Prince William County Republican Convention” box on the pre-filing form, though attendance it is not mandatory for membership.

Elect the Chairman Prince William County Republican Committee 2008-1010 and the PWC GOP Voting Membership 2008-2010.

Register by March 29 for the PWC Convention and check the “Delegate, Prince William County Republican Convention” box on the pre-filing form.

To run for PWC Republican Chairman you must declare your intent to the current Chairman by March 1.

Vote To Choose the GOP Candidate for U.S. Senate (replacing Sen. John Warner) at the Va. Sate GOP Convention on May 30-31

Register by March 29 for the PWC Convention and check the “Delegate, State Convention Republican Party of Virginia” box on the pre-filing form.

You are encouraged to also be a Delegate at the PWC Convention!

Vote To Choose the Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia at the Va. Sate GOP Convention on May 30-31

Be a Member of the Va. GOP State Central Committee

Declare your intent to the Chairman of your Congressional District Republican Committee by these deadlines:
    1st CD: April 18, 2008
  10th CD: January 25, 2008
  11th CD: March 1, 2008

The positions are elected at your Congressional District Republican Convention.  To attend this convention you must register by March 29 for the PWC Convention and check the appropriate “Delegate, xx Congressional District Republican Convention” box on the pre-filing form.

You are encouraged to also be a Delegate at the PWC Convention!

Be a Delegate to the Republican National Convention

Be a Nominee for Republican Elector to the Electoral College

Vote at your Congressional District Convention

Register by March 29 for the PWC Convention and check the “Delegate, xx Congressional District Republican Convention” box on the pre-filing form.

You are encouraged to also be a Delegate at the PWC Convention!
